DAY 1 THURSDAY JULY 11 DEPART to ACCRA via AMSTERDAM or LONDON
American Airlines / British Airways passengers proceed to your departure flight to connect to London Heathrow LHR) Airport in the United Kingdom. Delta Airlines / KLM Airlines passengers proceed to your departure flight to connect to Amsterdam (AMS) Airport in the Netherlands and arrive on July 12.
DAY 2 FRIDAY JULY 12 WELCOME to ACCRA, GHANA
Arrive in London on July 12 for group meet and greet at 10:45 AM at British Airways Ghana Departure gate at London Heathrow Airport. Flight departs at 12:40 PM on British Airways flight # BA0081 to Accra, Ghana. Arrive at Kotoka International Airport in Accra, Ghana at 6:20 PM.
Arrive in Amsterdam on July 12 for group meet and greet at 1:30 PM at KLM Airlines Ghana Departure gate at Amsterdam Airport. Flight departs at 3:20 PM on KLM Airlines flight # KL0589 to Accra, Ghana. Arrive at Kotoka International Airport in Accra, Ghana at 7:50 PM.
Our Ghana staff will escort us from baggage claim or Airport exit to the bus for a 15-minute drive to transfer to MJ Grand Hotel. Check in relax and get ready for the morning. Overnight at MJ Grand Hotel Accra. www.mjgrandhotelghana.com
DAY 3 SATURDAY JULY 13 ABURI & TUTU MOUNTAINS/ LEGON
Wake-up call, morning exercise, and breakfast. 8:30 AM ready time for a 45-minute to 1-hour drive to Aburi and Tutu in the Mountains. Stop by Rita Marley Studio and Foundation to take pictures outside. Visit Trinity Home Foundation a School in Tutu to donate school supplies. Shop at Aburi Wood Carving Village. Take a walk through Aburi Botanical Gardens. Visit the University of Ghana for a campus tour. 7 PM Enjoy dinner and nightlife at Tropical Jamaican Restaurant. DAY 4 SUNDAY JULY 14 MEET REPATRIATED AFRICANS in NINGO/ PRAMPRAM COMMUNITY
Free day good for final shopping leisure and more. Optional tour ready time 8:30 AM and return by 4 PM. Depart the hotel for 45-minute to 1-hour drive to meet and network with repatriated Africans in the Ninggo/Prampram community by the city of Tema. We will visit the African Ancestral Wall. Its 90 large portraits are meant to remind visitors of the power, courage, and brilliance of those who have come before us. Lunch at Abomah's Ocean View Restaurant which serves local and continental meals. Return to the hotel for a 4 PM Pool Party. 7 PM Dinner at a hotel or restaurant out in the East Legon. DAY 5 MONDAY JULY 15 ACCRA CITY TOUR – REPATRIATION & INVESTMENT BUSINESS CONFERENCE
Wake-up call, morning exercise, and breakfast. 8:30 AM Ready time for Accra City tour including Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park, the Culture Center, Independence Square, George Padmore Library, and the WEB Dubois Center. 6 PM Dinner then 7 - 9 PM Repatriation and Investment Conference with Africans born in the Diaspora and local business people. DAY 6 TUESDAY JULY 16 BLACK STAR PAN-AFRICAN COMMUNITY - ACCRA to ELMINA/ CAPE COAST - CENTRAL REGION
Wake-up call, morning exercise, and breakfast. Move all bags to the designated departure area by 7 AM. Check out of rooms by 8 AM at MJ Grand Hotel. Estimated 9 AM departure for a 2-hour drive to see our future Black Star Repatriation & Pan-African Community along with land Investment opportunities in the Central Region. DAY 7 WEDNESDAY JULY 17 CAPE COAST AFRICAN HOLOCAUST DUNGEONS
Wake-up call, morning exercise, and breakfast. Dress in your all-white outfits for our first ancestral reconnection day. 9 AM Depart for the Cape Coast Holocaust Dungeons where many of our ancestors were held before shipment across the Atlantic during the European slave trade of Stolen Africans after going through the Door of no return. DAY 8 THURSDAY JULY 18 AKOMA ACADEMY DONATIONS - KAKUM NATIONAL PARK
Free day good for final shopping, leisure at Coconut Grove Resort Beach, and more. The optional tour departs at 10 AM for an adventure to the Kakum rain forest for the Canopy walk and hike tour. Return to the resort in the afternoon to relax and enjoy paradise. 7 PM Dinner at Coconut Grove and various nightlife options. DAY 9 FRIDAY JULY 19 ASSIN MANSO/ KUMASI – CENTRAL/ ASHANTI REGION
Wake-up call, morning exercise, and breakfast. Check out of Coconut Grove at 9 AM. Dress in your Pan African colors of Red, Black, Green & Gold combination outfits for our second ancestral reconnection day. Leave Elmina for 1 one-hour drive to Assin Manso Old slave market for the full tour. Then a 4-hour drive to Kumasi to check in the Miklin hotel. 7 PM Dinner at the hotel and various nightlife options. Overnight at Miklin Hotel Kumasi. www.miklinhotels.com
DAY 10 SATURDAY JULY 20 KUMASI – SHOPPING at CULTURAL VILLAGES/ CENTERS
Wake-up call, morning exercise, and breakfast. 8:30 AM ready time to drive through the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science & Technology for Campus Tour. Kumasi City Tour and Neighboring Craft Villages including Bonwire the famous Kente cloth weaving, Ntonso for Kente Weaving, and Adinkra Printing and Wood Carving village. More shopping at the Culture Center. Lunch at Ike’s Cafe and Grill. Return to the hotel for a 4 PM Pool Party. 7 PM Dinner at hotel and social gathering with group. Various nightlife options. DAY 11 SUNDAY JULY 21 KUMASI – ASHANTI PALACE MUSEUM/ CULTURE CENTER
Wake-up call, morning exercise, and breakfast. 8:30 AM ready time for the Kumasi City Tour and the Manhyia Ashanti Palace Museum. The actual palace is behind the museum where the seat of the Asantehene of Asanteman, as well as his official residence. More shopping at the Culture Center. Lunch at Ike’s Cafe and Grill. Return to the hotel for a 4 PM Pool Party. 7 PM Dinner at hotel and social gathering with group. Various nightlife options. Overnight at Miklin Hotel Kumasi. www.miklinhotels.com
DAY 12 MONDAY JULY 22 DEPART KUMASI to ACCRA to ATLANTA via AMSTERDAM
Wake-up call, morning exercise, and breakfast. Move all bags to the designated departure area by 8 AM. Check out of rooms by 9 AM at Miklin Hotel. Estimated 10 AM departure for a 5 hour drive early farewell dinner at 4 PM in the city. After dinner depart for a short drive to check into Accra Airport at 7:00 PM for a 10:20 PM departure on British Airways flight # BA0117 to London. The other departure flight is at 11:05 PM departure on KLM Airlines flight # KL0590 to Amsterdam, Netherlands.
DAY 13 TUESDAY JULY 23 END OF TOUR RETURN to NYC to ATLANTA
Arrive at London Heathrow Airport, United Kingdom at 6:15 AM or arrive at Amsterdam Aiport in the Netherlands at 7:35 AM on Tuesday, July 23. Proceed to your USA connection flight. This is the end of the Ghana tour. Thanks for joining us on the Journey of a Lifetime.
